Call for Papers

Copper has played a crucial role in the human civilization. There has been extensive archaeological field work and significant research efforts devoted to the study of the early bronze civilization. Tongling, a famous ancient copper city in China, has successfully hosted the 1st and 2nd international conferences of the bronze civilization. In order to promote related research, the international conference on bronze civilization and archaeometry will be held again in Tongling in 2008. The organizers include University of Science and Technology of China, Peking University and the Tongling City Government.

The themes of the conference are as follows:

1.New archaeological discoveries and research into bronze objects 

2.Technology of mining, smelting, and casting for bronze production in ancient China

3.Copper resources in the middle-and-lower reach of the Yangtze river and the research of bronze civilization of the Shang and Zhou dynasties 

Please send your registration form and abstract to the congress secretariat by email before March 30, 2008. The abstract should be under 500 words. Detailed information of the conference will be sent to you around May 30, 2008.
